How does my donation help children?
Vehicle donations generate funding that supports programs designed to create educational opportunities and brighter futures for children and families.
Is the DMV notified of the donation?
Every Car Can is one of the few car donation programs that have a dealer's license. With this license, we follow each state's requirements of title transfer notification in accordance with the state's laws.
How much can I deduct from my taxes after I donate a vehicle?
The donor will be able to deduct the amount the vehicle is sold for in the auction. If the vehicle sells for less than $500, the IRS allows you to claim $500 as the maximum deduction.
What happens to my car after I donate it?
All donated vehicles will be sold at auction. 100% of net proceeds go to the Texans Can! Academies.
What if I cannot find my title?
No problem. If you are unable to locate your title please call us at 866-835-5437. Our staff can help you with the information you need to get your title.
How long will it take to pick up my vehicle?
We can pick up your car as early as the same day or the next day, whichever is better for you. Our tow service picks up Monday through Friday and in some cases, Saturday pickups are available.

We currently pick up cars in Texas and throughout the US. Please call us at 866-835-5437 or email us at info@everycarcan.org to schedule a pickup of your vehicle.
Does the vehicle title get transferred out of my name?
Yes. Every Car Can is just one of a few car donation programs that has a dealer's license. With this license, we are able to transfer the title out of the donor's name in accordance with the state laws.
When are your auctions?
Our auctions are held every other Saturday in Dallas. Our preview day is Friday from 12pm to 5pm, and our auction starts at 9am on Saturday.
Are your auctions open to the public?
Yes.
When do I need to pay for my vehicle purchase?
Payments for vehicle purchases should be made on auction day (Saturday) by 3:00pm, or Monday from 8:00am–4:00pm following the auction at the latest.
Can I test drive the vehicles?
No, but our mechanics check out the vehicles to give you an idea of what may be wrong with them prior to purchase.
Can I see what is wrong with a car I am interested in?
Yes. Our preview day is Friday from 8am to 5pm. You cannot open the hoods or start the cars, but you can open the doors and see what the mechanic wrote on the windshield.
Can I sell my car at your auction?
We do accept private consignments. Visit our Consignment page for more information.
What is a buyer's premium?
A Buyer's Premium is added to the selling price of each item; it is an agreed-upon cost to pay for the costs of the auctioneers. See the sliding scale and price calculator on our Auction Fees page.
What happens if I do not pay for the vehicle?
The $200 deposit is forfeited, the vehicle is put back into inventory, and if you want to bid again we will require a $500 deposit.
If I don't win the item I bid on, will my deposit be refunded?
Yes. We WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR CARD unless you win the auction — we only place a hold for the amount of the deposit until the end of the auction. The hold will be released in 5–10 business days depending on your bank's policy.
What is the average price range I can expect when attending an auction?
The price varies by item, the number of people at the auction, and demand. Bidding starts at $200.
Can I register in person?
You can register online at any time by creating a new account and placing your refundable $200 deposit. We do not accept in-person registrations for our online-only auction.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover are accepted for payment exceeding the cash deposit. When registering online, your deposit will be a HOLD placed on your credit card (not a charge) until the end results of the auction. The hold will be released in 5–10 business days (depending on your bank's policy) if you do not win a bid.
Is there anything else I need to know before the auction on Saturday?
